I have previously circulated the death and funeral of retired Sergeant Richard Skerten, see below.
The following is the official HQ circulation:-
As previously communicated, the Chief Constable regrets to notify staff of the death on 27th January 2013 of retired sergeant Richard John Skerten at the age of 60 years. Richard joined the force on 11th November 1975. He retired as Custody Sergeant based at Staines on 23rd December 2005.
The funeral Service will take place on Thursday, 14th February 2013 at Guildford Crematorium at 1.30pm. The family have requested family flowers only but would welcome donations in lieu of a floral tribute made to Queen Victoria Hospital’s charitable trust where donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/qvh-nhs
Any letters or cards of condolence should be sent to Richard’s son Daniel Skerten, address through usual SPRCA channels.

I regret to inform you of the death of retired Sergeant Richard Skerten aged 60 on 27th January. Richard was divorced and lived on his own at Albury. He was severely burnt in a fire at his home on 18th January and died in hospital.
No arrangement for his funeral have yet been made. I will circulate details when known.
Condolence cards can be sent to Daniel Skerten (son), address through usual SPRCA channels.
